Doug Christell

Doug Christell, originally from Chicago, U.S.A, has been living in Sapporo for 6 years.

Doug has a very creative background and utilises these skills in his role at Hokkaido Explorer.
After high school Doug went on to pursue his passion for musical theatre. He attended Carnegie Mellon University in 2002, after which he went on to study directing at the University of Southern California. He would later complete his Bachelor of Arts at Columbia College of Chicago.

Before moving to Japan Doug worked for Electric Avenue films in Los Angles. As a production assistant Doug aided in productions for both television and film, scheduled shoots, and assisted creatively in T.V. Advertisements. His production experience behind the lens has been invaluable in providing professional products for our clients.

Not only is Doug effective behind the scenes, he is also a very talented creative. An accomplished writer, director and actor he uses these skills to make and appear in our own and clients video productions. Furthermore his professional work attitude and effective communication skills ensure our products are on schedule and deliver on content.
Since moving to Japan, Doug has worked as an ESL teacher and a professional actor. Within his teaching work he has provided exceptional lessons, gone beyond sales targets and on numerous occasions been recognised as top teacher in Hokkaido. As an actor he has numerous professional film, T.V & stage credits. Most notably he appeared in Hokkaido Banks “RAPIDO” T.V commercial and Hokkaido Explorer productions.

In Doug’s free time he enjoys photography, singing and is an accomplished martial artist. We are very proud to have Doug working with us!
