Drift ice in Spring.

While all over Japan people are announcing the start of the Cherry Blossom season, the coast of Kushiro is littered with drift ice for the first time in 9 years.
Speaking of drift ice, you’d imagine it in places like Monbetsu or Abashiri off the coast of the Sea of Okhotsk. However it seems the ice floes arrived in Kushiro also. These pictures were taken about 2 weeks ago at “Chiyo no Ura Marine Park”.
It seems that ice floes are also something that can be enjoyed in Spring.

Special thanks to YUKARI for the wonderful pictures and story.
